How I Ended April

It’s amazing how a small act of kindness could make all the difference in the world.

On my way home after a day of insanity, I decided to walk from GT Toyota to my condo. Nicodemus said that it’s dangerous because the streets are dark and whatnot. I agree with him but after everything that happened today, I’m not sure if I still care. Besides, have you ever felt so stressed that you just want to walk?

So I crossed the footbridge and as I was going down, I saw a motorcycle coming to a halt. I’m paranoid by nature so my initial thought was “is this the moment wherein the driver gets his gun and shoots me? Coz man, I’m ready.” I stood with bathed breath only to realize after a few moments that the driver wasn’t going to shoot me and I was just an idiot imagining things as always.

So I continued walking. To my surprise, I saw the motorcycle again. And the driver was smiling at me. He said he saw me walking so he offered to give me a ride home. I’ve always believed that the universe blessed me with good instincts and I just knew that it was genuine kindness and not anything sketchy. And indeed, he brought me home safely.

His act did not solve any of my problems but it surely reminded me of the good in this universe. And sometimes, that is more than enough.
